about

You ever want to hear Mary Ann a bunch of times? Well here's your chance! For some reason I started putting The Donner Party on every format I could. It became a way to test various formats. They are as follows:

Lossless Digital Track: The original cut of the track as it was recorded, no bells and whistles.

8-Track: Recorded from the 8-Track I made of the album. This version features a slightly longer cut, but it's mixed exactly the same as the above lossless master (it fit better on the tape).

Reel to Reel: Recorded from a 5" 7 1/2ips Reel to Reel tape of the album. Ignore the drop out like half way through the song, that's a problem with the tape it's self unfortunately.

LP: Recorded from a lathe cut of the album. I wish I had an actual vinyl cut of this, but the price to get a one-off or do a small run would be way more than I could justify.

Cassette: Recorded on a standard type I cassette with no NR.

3 3/4 Cassette: Recorded on a virgin Type II cassette at 3 3/4ips. This was achieved by recording the songs at half speed then playing them back on a dubbing deck in high speed mode.
